Cloves

Cloves are the aromatic dried unopened whole flower buds of Eugenia caryophyllus C. Sprengel/Bullock and impart a strongly aromatic fragrance along with a fiery taste. Cloves are used in a variety of food preparations as well as in Ayurvedic / Chinese medicine, and dentistry where the essential oil (extracted from the clove leaf) is used as a painkiller for dental emergencies.
